In part due to the success of the first edition of The Dram Room, I am delighted to announce its second coming – BIGGER, BETTER, and from the comforts of your own home!
Lee Hanson of Select Collectible Spirits and Select Wines curated an incredible selection of eight, yes, eight single malt and single grain whiskies for us to try, from 6 to 25 year old, and he will guest host the event with yours truly and wow us with his insightful, educational presentation and also his gregarious passionate character.
From Select Collectible Spirits’ stable, we will taste 6 selections from famous independent bottler Hunter Laing(Old Malt Cask, First Editions, and The Sovereign) one from new indie bottler Rest & Be Thankful, cult classic Glencadam 21 Year Old official bottling(Angus Dundee Distillers) and from Canada, Commodore Single Malt Whisky(Odd Society Distillers, British Columbia)
We will taste eight(yes, eight!) single malts in 1/2 oz pours of each as follows:
Glencadam 21 Year Old 46% vol.
Commodore 46% vol
OMC Glen Moray 14 year old 50% vol.
OMC Balmenach 14 year old50% vol.
OMC Anniversary Laphroaig 12 year old 50% vol.
First Editions Glenburgie 21 year old cask strength 52.1% vol.
Rest & Be Thankful Ledaig 2007 11 year old 58.5% vol.
The Sovereign Girvan 25 year old single grain Scotch whisky 58.9%
This is a unique opportunity as none, NONE of these whiskies are on shelves at Manitoba Liquor Mart.
